85 for 85

Following the lead of brands like Patagonia, 85 for 85 is a project that aims to right the wrong done to Bears Ears, Grand Staircase-Escalante, and the people who hold those places dear.

My small contribution takes cues from Bears Ears' distinctive peaks and a passage from The Hour of Land by Terry Tempest Williams.

Our public lands – whether a national park or monument, wildife refuge, forest, or prairie – make each one of us land-rich. It is our inheritance as citizens of a country called America.

the 85 for 85 book

The 85 for 85 book contains 85 pieces of work, from 40 contributing artists, representing the 85% reduction of Bears Ears National Monument.

100% of profits will be donated in support of the Wilderness Society's lawsuit against the administration and its reduction of protected land. Our goal is a substantial, and fitting, $8,500.

With the privilege of parks & monuments comes responsibility for land that is neither yours nor mine—only ours. When under threat, it’s on us to defend our right to preserve & enjoy these places, assign meaning to them, and keep it all intact for generations to come.
